Attendance: Vice President Theo Tate, Secretary Angel Davis, Treasurer Jim Guffie, Library Director Gaylee Harris, Members Jamie Bukovac, Mark Clements, Pat Garrett, Molly Taylor, and Shannon Brock. Absent: Patti Pazdera and Jenny Cox.
The Montgomery City Public Library Board of Trustees meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., May 14 by Vice President Theo Tate. The agenda was approved. The consent agenda was approved.
Gaylee Harris presented the Library Director’s report.
In Communications from Board Members, Molly Taylor announced she would be stepping down from her position on the Board effective July 2025.
The Officer Nomination Committee presented the 2025-2026 slate of officers: Theo Tate- President, Mark Clements- Vice President, Angel Davis- Secretary, and Jenny Cox- Treasurer. Pat Garrett moved to suspend Article Six of the MCLP Board By-Laws for this election. The motion was seconded and passed. The slate of officers was approved by consent.
The Budget committee presented the 2025-2026 Budget. The 2025-2026 Budget was approved.
Shannon Brock presented the Friends of the Library update.
There was no Unfinished Business.
In New Business, the Budget Committee will meet with the City on May 27 at 4pm. New board members and salary schedule will be discussed in Executive Session. Gaylee Harris presented a request from Narcotics Anonymous to add a cabinet in the Community Room to house their materials. Jim Guffie moved the By-Laws Committee update the Meeting Room Policy to reflect a “carry in, carry out” policy for all materials used by groups in the Meeting Room. The motion was seconded and passed. The By-Laws Committee will meet by email and present at the June meeting.
There were no Patron Comments.
Jim Guffie moved to adjourn into Executive Session pursuant to Section 610.021 (1)(2)(3) of the Revised Statutes of Missouri pertaining to legal action, personnel, or real estate at 7:45 p.m.
Pat Garrett moved to adjourn the regular meeting at 8:29 p.m.
